Life’s Little Surprises

Since when did I let it get this far?
About an hour earlier:-
When somebody asked you over a microphone in a class of over 20 odd members whether you wanna get dinner with him later, it is not difficult to fathom what the response would be. You would good naturedly replied yeah yeah in the spirit of being sporting but knowing full well it is not real! I mean seriously? Especially if it came from someone with a so-called “reputation”! Or is it?
I hate the way he gets under my skin. I hate myself letting him get under my skin. You know what was the most romantic part of the night? The moment I saw him waiting for me outside the building……
That melodious voice just draws you in so effortlessly like a charm that you cannot resist…
If I could give him credit I would say it’s for his honesty. He did not hide what or who he was from me. Not about where he works nor about the rumored women or his reputation. Like he said so himself, he wasn’t out to impress me! He was laying himself bare for me to judge. There were many things that he told me about himself that night . Things that I wouldn’t have thought possible coming from him. A silently rebellious, non-conformist misunderstood soul…….
I feel guilty doubting a man who has just bared his soul. But I also cannot help doubting him. Is this just a ruse to make me think that he is that person which he’s not? And however much I would like to fight it, the truth is I like this person. I like this person who has spoken to me…..
I remember his scent on that night, I remember how comfortable it was to walk beside him…..I also remember how to be AFRAID! Afraid that in the end they are all just lies…..
